[ARCHIVED] 2023-04-04: Tip-A-Cop a Success at Old Towne Restaurant

Trumbull Police Logo

Old Towne Restaurant hosted a Tip-A-Cop fundraiser event to benefit Special Olympics with the assistance of the Trumbull Police Department on Saturday, April 1, 2023. During this event, Trumbull officers swapped their duty belts for aprons as they waited tables and mingled with patrons at the restaurant for tips to help support the athletes.

Thanks to the contributions and hospitality provided by Old Towne Restaurant, and the generosity of the patrons, this wonderful event raised over $1,700 for this worthy cause. All monies raised went to Special Olympics of Connecticut which is a designated charity of law enforcement in the state. The donations help fund efforts for the Special Olympic athletes, from providing gear and transportation to practicing and competing in their sporting events, as well as health and fitness programs for athletes of all ability levels.

The Trumbull police department has been a long-time supporter of the Special Olympics of Connecticut and participates in various events including the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run, which kicks off the local Special Olympics games every year.
