10/06/23: There has been an on-going, major repair campaign underway at the Trumbull Red Garage. The repairs have been divided into three main phases. Currently, repair work is ongoing simultaneously at the Phase 1A (along the mall) , Phase 1B (along Target) and Phase 2 (central) areas. To date, the following scope of work has been completed:
- Repairs at approximately 18 percent of the slab area indicated for repair
- Repairs at the northeast staircase except for the installation of traffic coating
- Guardrail replacement at the northeast corner of the garage
Currently, concrete demolition and placement of formwork is underway at approximately 15 percent of the slabs; ceiling and beam repairs along the mall and Target; and repairs at the mall entrance at the northeast corner of the garage are also being performed as part of Phase 1 work. Weather permitting, major repairs scheduled for the section of the garage deck in front of Target is anticipated to be completed by the end of November. The repairs are progressing on schedule and are anticipated to be completed by July 2024, weather permitting.
Meanwhile, the work areas at the second level of the parking garage remain temporarily shored and all areas remain temporarily protected by barricades. Pedestrian pathways remain designated at the perimeter of the work areas to allow access and egress from Target.
