Twin Brooks and Old Mine Park are open as of this morning.
The Farmers Market will be open this afternoon from 4-7 at its regular location in Twin Brooks Park.
(Original 8/19/24): Due to flooding from yesterday’s storm (8/18/24), the Mary J. Sherlach Counseling Center, Old Mine Park, Twin Brooks Park and Unity Park are all closed at this time. We will provide updates when these town facilities are reopened.
I want to thank our Police, Public Works, and Fire Departments for responding yesterday to our neighboring communities as they were dealing with life-threatening issues from the storm.
I also want to thank our Police and Fire Departments for rescuing a town resident in Twin Brooks Park this morning who got caught in the fast-moving currents. Please stay away from the rising waters in the parks.
Please continue to exercise caution as you are traveling and/or walking in the area over the next few days.
