Three officers were promoted to new ranks in the Trumbull Police Department last month, to fill long-time vacancies in the agency’s Table of Organization. Captain Donald Allen, Lieutenant Robert Coppola, and Sergeant Robert Pysz were each sworn in with their new Oath of Office during a brief ceremony at Town Hall. They will start into their new assignments immediately.

Captain Allen, a member of Trumbull PD for twenty-three (23) years, has served in various assignments during his career, including the Patrol Division, Detective Division, and Professional Standards. He will now serve as Commander of the Administrative Services Bureau, with a focus on completing accreditation standards.

Lt. Coppola has also served the department for twenty-three (23) years, most recently serving as a supervisor in the Detective Division. He will now be assigned to the Office of Professional Standards. Lt. Coppola earned his Master’s Degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Sgt. Pysz has worked as a Patrol Officer for more than eleven (11) years with this department, acting as a Field Training Officer and with Community Services during that time. He has already started his new assignment as a Shift Supervisor in the Patrol Division. He holds a Master’s Degree in Homeland Security.

The Trumbull Police Department currently has eight (8) vacancies and is always accepting new applications and inquiries for those interested in a law enforcement career. More information can be found at https://www.policeapp.com/Entry-Level-Trumbull-CT-Police-Officer-Jobs/1002/.
