Some absentee voters who had requested an absentee ballot have received a second absentee ballot in the mail. The following letter was included with the second ballot and explains why some voters received a second ballot. Absentee voters who received the explanatory text with their ballots will not receive a replacement absentee ballot. Anyone requiring additional information should call Town Clerk Mary Markham at 203-452-5037.
Dear Absentee Voter:
When my office sent you the absentee ballot you requested, the envelope inadvertently did not include the explanatory text for the town referendum (Question 2 on the ballot). Therefore, enclosed you will find the required explanatory text and another absentee ballot.
If you have already voted and wish to change your vote after reading the explanatory text, please vote on this new ballot. Your original ballot will be voided once we have your new ballot. If you choose not to change anything, you may destroy this new ballot. There is nothing further required of you.
