The Officer returned to his vehicle and was able to chase down, stop and arrest Jacobs on Main Street, near Quality Street.
Trumbull EMS responded and transported the officer to St. Vincent’s Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Jacobs was charged with Engaging Police in Pursuit, Assault on a Police Officer, Interfering with an Officer, Possession of Controlled Substance, Use of Drug Paraphernalia, and Illegal Operation Under the Influence. He was held on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on December 6, 2024. Fairfield police charged Jacobs for additional crimes he committed in their town.
