Town of Trumbull Seal 200x200 (JPG)

WHEREAS, mental health is essential to overall well-being, and affects every aspect of our lives—from how we think and feel to how we act, relate to others, and handle stress; and

WHEREAS, millions of individuals and families across our communities are impacted by mental health conditions, which know no boundaries; and

WHEREAS, stigma surrounding mental health remains a barrier that prevents  many people from seeking the help they need and deserve; and

WHEREAS, we recognize the importance of raising awareness, increasing access to care, and supporting the mental wellness of all people through education, open dialogue, and community action; and

WHEREAS, Mental Health Awareness Month serves as a crucial reminder that no one is alone, that help is available, and that together, we can create a culture of compassion, understanding, and support;

WHEREAS, Mental Health Month celebrates the resilience and strength of individuals living with mental illness, recognizing their courage, determination, and achievements in overcoming obstacles, seeking help, and embracing hope and healing; and

WHEREAS, Mental Health Month serves as a call to action for individuals, communities, and policymakers to prioritize mental health and well-being, invest in prevention, early intervention, and support services, and work together to create a more inclusive, compassionate, and supportive society;

NOW THEREFORE I, Vicki A. Tesoro, by virtue of the authority vested in me as First Selectman of the Town of Trumbull, Connecticut do hereby proclaim May 1, 2025 as, Mental Health Awareness Month.
