WHEREAS, National Nurses Week is celebrated annually to honor the dedication, compassion, and invaluable contributions of nurses who serve as the backbone of our healthcare system; and
WHEREAS, the theme of Nurses Week 2025, “the power of nurses,” reflects the essential role nurses play in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across hospitals, clinics, schools, homes, and communities nationwide; and
WHEREAS, nurses exemplify courage, resilience, and professionalism in the face of unprecedented public health challenges, working long hours and making personal sacrifices to protect and promote the health and well-being of others; and
WHEREAS, nurses advocate for their patients and families, provide critical support during life’s most vulnerable moments, and serve as educators, innovators, and leaders in advancing health equity and improving outcomes for all; and
WHEREAS, the nursing profession continues to grow and evolve, encompassing a wide range of specialties and advanced roles, and remains vital to the future of healthcare in America; and
WHEREAS, during Nurses Week, we recognize and celebrate the extraordinary work of nurses and express our deepest gratitude for their commitment to excellence, empathy, and healing;
NOW THEREFORE I, Vicki A. Tesoro, by virtue of the authority vested in me as First Selectman of the Town of Trumbull, Connecticut do hereby proclaim May 6, 2025 through May 12, 2025 as National Nurses Week
