WHEREAS, National Skilled Nursing Care Week, observed May 11 through May 17, 2025, recognizes the vital role skilled nursing care centers play in providing compassionate, quality care to millions of older adults and individuals with disabilities or chronic illnesses; and
WHEREAS, skilled nursing care centers are more than healthcare facilities—they are vibrant communities where residents receive not only medical support but also emotional and social enrichment that promotes dignity and well-being; and
WHEREAS, the dedicated staff of skilled nursing centers—including nurses, therapists, social workers, support staff, and administrators—work tirelessly to ensure the highest standards of care, especially in times of great challenge and change; and
WHEREAS, these professionals demonstrate resilience, empathy, and excellence in their daily work, forming strong bonds with residents and families and contributing to a culture of respect, healing, and hope; and
WHEREAS, National Skilled Nursing Care Week provides an opportunity to honor the extraordinary efforts of caregivers and to celebrate the lives, stories, and contributions of those entrusted to their care;
WHEREAS, I encourage all citizens to recognize and show appreciation for the exceptional work of those in skilled nursing care and to honor the individuals who live, work, and find community within these important care settings.
NOW THEREFORE I, Vicki A. Tesoro, by virtue of the authority vested in me as First Selectman of the Town of Trumbull, Connecticut do hereby proclaim May 11, 2025 through May 17, 2025 as National Skilled Nursing Care Week.
