07/18/25: As you may have seen, the renovation of the Tashua Pool is complete. We are awaiting the Certificate of Occupancy from the State of Connecticut Health Inspector. As we stated in our previous updates, as originally expected, a July opening is planned.
07/01/25: Work continues on the Tashua Pool renovation. United Illuminating began work on site today to install required electrical upgrades to the Tashua Knolls complex. This is expected to be a three-day project. Perimeter fencing is being installed, which is necessary before the pool can be filled. Work on the building is nearing completion. As originally expected, a July opening is planned.
05/12/25: Renovations at the Tashua Pool began in September 2024 following the seasonal closure. The Town is investing in a comprehensive upgrade of this high-use, multigenerational facility, supported by a combination of bond funding and $850,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) allocations.
The project includes improvements to the main pool, restrooms, dressing rooms, and concession areas, all of which had exceeded their useful life. Additionally, the former children’s pool is being converted into a splash pad, providing a safer and more engaging space for younger swimmers.
Tashua Pool serves hundreds of residents each summer and is also a key location for swim instruction programs that help young children build confidence in the water and promote lifelong water safety skills. This investment ensures the facility remains safe, functional, and accessible for years to come.
Construction is currently underway, and the pool is anticipated to reopen in July. The Town will provide further updates as we get closer to completion.
