Trumbull Police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving an Electric Bike on Main Street (Route 111) in Trumbull, near the intersection of Whitney Avenue. The crash involves serious injuries to the bike operator, and the roadway in this area had been closed for several hours.
The Trumbull Police received several 911 calls, on Thursday, July 10, at approximately 6:45 PM, reporting a single motor vehicle striking a bike operator on Main Street near Whitney Avenue. The vehicle then came to rest in the roadway after receiving heavy damage, and serious injuries to the bike operator.
First responding Trumbull police officers rendered medical aid to the victim and secured the scene. Trumbull EMS arrived on scene to treat and eventually transport the victim to an area hospital.
The Trumbull, Fairfield, and Westport Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating this incident. The cause of the accident and severity of injuries
have not been determined at this time. The identities of those involved are being withheld at this time. The area of Main Street and Whitney Avenue has been reopened.
