[ARCHIVED] Town of Trumbull Halloween Message

Halloween Parade

10/30/2019 - Some Trumbull residents have asked whether Halloween trick-or-treating might be moved to another night due to expected rain tomorrow evening.

Earlier today, First Selectman Vicki Tesoro met with Chief of Police Michael Lombardo and Emergency Management Director Megan Murphy to review the weather forecast for tomorrow evening.  As of that meeting, the forecast was calling for rain in the evening, with heavy rain and high winds after midnight. Neither Chief Lombardo nor Director Murphy had any significant concerns about children trick-or-treating during the evening hours. We will continue to monitor the forecast.

As Halloween is not a town-sponsored event and there are no significant public safety concerns at this time, the decision about participation in outdoor activities tomorrow evening should be made by our families. If your children do go trick-or-treating, please make sure they wear reflective clothing, carry flashlights, and otherwise make themselves as visible as possible to drivers.

Thank you, and we wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween.
