January 17, 2020 – At the January 15, 2020 Trumbull Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, the Commission passed, by a 4-1 bipartisan vote, a one year extension to the moratorium on future multi-family rental apartments. The original moratorium was passed by the Planning and Zoning Commission in January, 2019.
The moratorium will not interrupt any developments that are already zoned, approved or currently under land use consideration. It is intended to halt any future multi-family rental developments for an additional one-year period.
First Selectman Vicki Tesoro states, “I want to thank the P & Z Commission for extending this moratorium. The additional twelve-month time out will provide the opportunity for us to further examine the impact on our town of policy changes and approvals dating back to 2017. We expect units at Ten Trumbull on Oakview Drive to begin to be occupied in the coming months. The data from that occupancy will be an important component to examining the impact on Town services. ”
