[ARCHIVED] Trumbull High School Class of 2020 Final Eagle FlyThru

Trumbull Eagle 1000x1000 (JPG)

Good Afternoon,

This is First Selectman Vicki Tesoro with an important announcement.

Before beginning, I want to congratulate all of our graduates from Booth Hill, Daniels Farm, Frenchtown, Jane Ryan, Middlebrook, and Tashua Elementary Schools, Hillcrest & Madison Middle Schools, and Trumbull High School. These are extraordinary times and you have shown resilience to overcome many obstacles. The Community is proud of you and you should be proud of yourselves!

Also the following announcement is from the organizers of the Trumbull High School car procession:

In celebration of the THS class of 2020, the graduates will participate in a “Final Eagle FlyThru!” on Sunday June 21st. Student in cars driven by a parent, will be part of the longest car procession ever in Trumbull.  This will be an historic event for THS seniors with guidelines in place to ensure the safety of our graduates and the community. All occupants must remained seated in the car.

We all wish our grads the best, and will be decorating their path to honor them.  People who live along the route are encouraged to cheer them on as they pass and display signs to wish them well.

While this will be a great experience, we must remember, for the same reasons that other events were cancelled, postponed or modified, we must comply with state guidelines.  This is not a parade.

For this reason we kindly ask that above all we practice social distancing.  For traffic safety, there will be no parking along the route.

The graduates will leave the Westfield Shopping Center at 10 a.m. sharp, exiting onto Madison Ave.  They will proceed to Lake Ave, Main Street, Whitney Ave, Daniels Farm entering through Hillcrest School and finally through Trumbull High.

All THS graduates are invited to meet at the Westfield Shopping Center on June 21st at 9 AM to caravan through Trumbull together as a class, culminating in a final sweep through Trumbull High campus.

The town has worked with the organizers and is supporting this event. The Trumbull Police will be escorting our THS seniors with the Trumbull Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services showing their support as well.

Please consider supporting our Grads.  Additional information will be provided to students via email throughout the week.

The abovementioned route for this procession will be posted on the Town website.

I will return early this evening with another important update.

Thanks for listening.

Vicki
