The Trumbull Day Commission is disappointed to announce that the Trumbull Day Carnival and Food Truck Festival 2020 is cancelled. The governor’s latest guidance today states that outdoor gatherings are allowable at 100 people and re-opening guidance states that outdoor events must follow executive orders. The Norwalk Oyster Festival, The Bridgeport Barnum Festival, the Goshen Fair, and the Durham Fair are among the many fairs and festivals that have been cancelled, along with Trumbull Day.
The Trumbull Day Commission has POSTPONED the fireworks and intends to have the firework display later in the summer or early fall. Our neighbors, including Westport, Wilton, Fairfield, Greenwich, Milford, Norwalk, New Canaan, Bridgeport, Stratford, and many others have cancelled their fireworks for 2020. If we were to hold our fireworks display on July 3rd as planned, only 500 people would be permitted to attend. (This number does not pertain to graduations). By late summer/early fall, the governor’s guidance will remove the cap with regard to the number of attendees at fireworks displays. (This guidance also does not pertain to graduations). The social distancing restrictions may be relaxed enough that any resident wishing to attend will be able to do so. We are postponing until many more residents will be able to attend and enjoy the fireworks display.
The Trumbull Day Commission is planning to come back next summer with a Trumbull Day 2021 that is bigger and better than ever!
