The Town Council Legislation & Administration Committee (L&A) is meeting tonight, July 6, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom to review the Charter Revision Commission 2020’s draft report. There will be a public hearing on the draft report at the meeting. The public is invited to attend the meeting and provide input to the Town Council. The draft report is posted on the Town website at the following link: Draft Report to Town Council. The L&A Committee may make recommendations to the full Town Council, or it may pass the draft report on to the Council without recommendation. The Town Council will review the draft report at its meeting on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom. At that time, the Council may make recommendations for the Charter Revision Commission to consider including in its final report to the Council. If the Council makes no recommendations, the draft report becomes final.
The Town Council is charged with deciding which charter amendments to submit for voter approval at the election on November 3, 2020. Only those amendments approved by the voters will become effective.
