Trumbull will be experiencing tropical storm force winds between 2 PM and 7 PM today. Tropical storm warnings are in effect for all of CT and Massachusetts. A tornado watch is in effect for Southern CT.
The primary threat from this storm will be from strong winds. The storm located near Maryland as of 10 AM this morning has maximum sustained winds of 70 MPH. Heavy rain of 1-3 inches is also predicted in Southern CT.
Power outages are expected. Contact United Illuminating to report the outage.
Please make sure you have secured your patio and deck furniture and that you bring in garbage receptacles. Visit the Town website for more information.
Interim School Superintendent Iassogna has relayed to me that he will be sharing school opening information with parents on Wednesday or Thursday of this week, followed by a planned Zoom meeting on Friday. More details will be coming directly from the Superintendent.
Connecticut’s Democratic and Republican Presidential Primaries are on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. You must be registered with either the Republican or Democratic Party to vote in the primary.
If you completed an application for an absentee ballot and are waiting for that ballot, they are on the way. Absentee ballots are coming directly from the Secretary of State to all residents who completed an application.
The ballots have been mailed and you should be receiving them within the next few days. Once you have completed the ballot, you may drop it off in the Ballot Drop boxes located at Town Hall and at the Police Department entrance doors or you can mail it in time to reach town hall by Tuesday, August 11th.
If you did not request an absentee ballot and wish to do so please contact the Town Clerk’s office at 203-452-5035.
If you are not voting by absentee ballot, all polling locations are open from 6 AM to 8 PM on Tuesday, August 11th.
For the safety of our employees Town Hall will be closing at 1 PM today. Town employees will be working remotely.
