[ARCHIVED] 2020/21 Leaf Pick-Up Program (Updated 11-05-20)

Rake Leaves

11-05-20 Update:

The annual Town wide loose-leaf collection program begins Monday, November 9th. This week you may see crews testing equipment in preparation.

We anticipate challenges this year as we strive to deliver services while balancing the COVID-related personnel safety guidelines. Safety has been the principal driver in decision-making throughout the pandemic and fortunately, few members of the Department of Public Works team have been affected. In order to ensure safety, we have deployed our teams differently. These key decisions early on were made to ensure that safe practices could be reinforced both at work and at home.

These calculated decisions limit the number of personnel available for deployment daily. Fewer crews result in a slower moving program and we ask your patience as we work throughout these difficult times. The men working in your neighborhoods will later be plowing and preserving public safety.

We ask that you place leaves at the curb, not on the roadway. Bagged leaves must be in recyclable paper bags only; plastic bags will not be collected. Please check the interactive map daily where you will see each day’s progress and help you determine anticipated arrival in your area.
