This is First Selectman Vicki Tesoro with important information about Tropical Storm Henri:
The National Weather Service at this time is predicting that our area will see the effects of Tropical Storm Henri beginning tomorrow night through Sunday. We can expect high winds and rain.
We are anticipating significant tree damage throughout the State. UI is geared up for large scale power outages. We are asking all residents to prepare for extended times for restoration.
If you have a power outage – Contact United Illuminating 800-722-5584 or www.uinet.com. Residents who lose power are encouraged to shelter in place until it is safe to travel. If you are in need of shelter, please reach out to family and friends.
If there is a Life Safety Emergency – call 911.
For help in a non-emergency situation, please call the Trumbull Police Department non-emergency number, 203-261-3665.
Please also remember to check your elderly and disabled neighbors to be sure they are safe.
Please remember to operate generators at a safe distance from your home to prevent carbon monoxide from entering the home.
Residents are advised to secure all loose items outside.
Please stay away from all down power lines.
Individuals who are medically compromised are reminded to review their contingency plans.
