Message from First Selectman Vicki Tesoro about Town Hall Operations on Monday, August 23, 2021
After attending numerous meetings with State of Connecticut Emergency Management officials and our Town Emergency Management Team over the last two days and after receiving the latest State update at 4:30 PM this afternoon I have determined that it is safe for both our citizens and employees to have normal town operations on Monday. My original decision to close our government offices was based on the best information available at that time but thankfully the major impacts predicted at that time, including wide-spread power outages have not materialized. Therefore, I have determined it is safe for both our citizens and our employees to resume normal business operations on Monday. All town buildings, including the library, will be open tomorrow Monday, August 23 for normal business hours.
Safety will always be my number one priority.
I will always act with an abundance of caution but remain flexible to change as circumstances dictate.
