[ARCHIVED] Veterans’ Day Statement from First Selectman Vicki Tesoro

American Flag Image

Today, November 11th is Veteran’s Day. On this day we honor the men and women who served our nation and those who continue to serve as members of our armed forces, in times of war and peace.

They served to preserve the freedoms we often take for granted. However, more than that, our veterans have served to bring the freedoms we enjoy to others. It is said that the American soldier never came to conquer but to liberate.

So, mindful of their service in whatever capacity, it is up to us, the beneficiaries of their service, to commit ourselves to honor them. Honor them not just this day but every day.

Let’s always remember to say thank you to the veterans who have served our Country.
