A fleet of sixteen (16) van-style school buses were targeted by thieves who cut off the vehicles’ catalytic converters sometime over the weekend while the vehicles were parked in a company parking lot on Spring Hill Road in Trumbull.
On Monday morning, April 11, 2022, the Trumbull Police were called to investigate more reported thefts of catalytic converters from school busses, this time from the Durham School Service, located at 81 Spring Hill Road. Police learned that thieves stole catalytic converters from sixteen (16) van-style buses, where each of these vehicles had catalytic converters cut off from them with a total reported loss of over $40,000.
The Trumbull Police are actively investigating these thefts and other similar thefts that have occurred recently, and are working in collaboration with neighboring police agencies to share information to solve these crimes that tend to occur during the overnight hours.
