Congratulations to the Trumbull United Soccer Club’s under-11 boys' and girls' teams for winning the Connecticut Cup championship! This was the first time that one town-based club in Connecticut won both the boys' and girls' divisions in the same bracket in the same year. Close to 90 under-11 teams entered the boys' and girls' divisions in the tournament. The Eagles (boys) defeated Old Greenwich in the final game, which was decided in double overtime, by a score of 2-1. The Heat (girls) beat Naugatuck in the final game by a score of 1-0. The Heat were coached by Jaime Jorge and the Eagles were coached by Tyler Jorge, the first father-son duo to win a championship on the same day in Connecticut Cup history. Trumbull is so proud of both teams! Great job!
