After several meetings involving Trumbull Mall management, the First Selectman’s Office, and the Trumbull Police Department, the Trumbull Mall has agreed to institute a curfew on Saturday evenings beginning on Saturday, August 5th, 2023. Details about this curfew can be found below.
The following statement was issued by the Trumbull Mall:
“At Trumbull Mall, we strive to create a safe and enjoyable environment for all of our visitors. In order to ensure the well-being and security of our shoppers and tenants, we are implementing a curfew policy effective August 5, 2023.
On Saturdays from 4:00 PM until close, all patrons under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult over the age of 21 while inside the mall premises. We ask that supervising adults be prepared to show proof of age via a valid form of identification, such as state, military, or school-issued IDs.
This curfew policy has been established in response to feedback from community members and tenants and aims to promote a family-friendly atmosphere for all visitors. Our goal with this new protocol is to maintain a consistent standard of safety and security throughout the mall at all hours. Other guidelines include:
- One 21+ adult may accompany up to four youths, excluding children 10 and under.
- All accompanied youths must remain with the supervising adult.
- Supervising adults are responsible for the actions of the youth they accompany.
- Those lacking proper identification or proof of age may be asked to leave the property.
We appreciate your cooperation and support in adhering to this curfew policy. Thank you for your understanding as we work towards providing the best possible experience for all of our visitors."
