[ARCHIVED] 10/30/2017 - United Illuminating announces next phase of "Tree Enhancement Program"

The U. I.  has announced that the fifth phase of their "Tree Enhancement Program" is scheduled to start this coming spring. A work planner will be in contacting property owners in the near future to request the signing of a " Consent Form" to conduct tree work in their immediate area. The U.I.'s goal is to establish a "Utility Protective Zone" adjacent to the high voltage lines from ground to sky to improve electrical reliability.

Tree work will be conducted along the following town roads:

    1)   Strobel Road

    2)  MacDonald Road

    3)  Blue Ridge Road

    4)  Booth Hill Road (from Strobel Road to Unity Road)

    5)  Sweetbriar Road

    6)  East Lake Road

    7)  Pinewood Trail

    8)  Unity Road

    9)  Priscilla Place

  10) Wildflower Lane

In addition, tree Work will be conducted along Rt. 108 ( State Rd) from the Shelton City Line to Wildflower Lane.

If a property owner has concerns regarding the pruning or removal of trees along town roads, they can contact the town Tree Warden or his deputy at  (203) 452-5050 or  (203) 395-1710. Along  Rt. 108 they can contact the Department of Transportation at (203) 389-3008.
