WHEREAS, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) professionals are the frontline heroes who selflessly dedicate their lives to saving lives, providing urgent medical care, and ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals in time of crisis; and
WHEREAS, EMS practitioners, including paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), dispatchers, and support personnel, exhibit unparalleled courage, compassion, and expertise, responding swiftly to emergencies with skill, professionalism, and unwavering commitment; and
WHEREAS, EMS week serves as an opportunity to recognize and honor the extraordinary contributions of EMS personnel, who work tirelessly around the clock, often under challenging conditions, to deliver lifesaving interventions, stabilize patients, and transport them to definitive care; and
WHEREAS, EMS week celebrates the dedication, resilience, and sacrifice of EMS personnel, highlighting their indispensable role in safeguarding public health, promoting safety, and saving lives in communities across the nation; and
WHEREAS, in addition to providing emergency services, Trumbull Emergency Medical Services is active within the community by offering training opportunities and outreach support; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Trumbull expresses gratitude and appreciation for the invaluable dedication and contributions of our EMS professionals and we recognize their indispensable role in their heroic service and profound impact on the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Vicki A. Tesoro, by virtue of the authority vested in me as First Selectman of the Town of Trumbull, Connecticut, do hereby proclaim May 19-25, 2024, as NATIONAL EMS WEEK.
