A strict burn ban is currently in effect for the Town of Trumbull and all burning permits are suspended until further notice. The ban includes any type of open burning, the use of fire pits, and outdoor grilling. THIS BAN EXTENDS TO ALL FIREWORK ACTIVITY AS WELL.
Last week, Governor Ned Lamont declared a State of Emergency as a result of dry and windy weather conditions. An emergency burn ban is currently in effect for all Connecticut State Parks, forests, and wildlife management areas. The State Department of Energy & Environmental Protection and local agencies are working to contain several active fires across the State.
We recognize that members of our community are celebrating Diwali and wish you peace and prosperity. Please be aware that there is currently a statewide burn ban in effect and the use of fireworks is not allowed at this time. We understand this may disrupt celebrations. In the interest of public safety, we are asking our residents to please adhere to this ban.
