With the assistance of Trumbull’s Partnership Against Under-Age Drinking (TPAUD), State officials, along with the Trumbull police, conducted surprise inspections at seven (7) local businesses, and found that three (3) violated state law by selling alcohol to minors. Main Street Wine & Liquor, Wines & Hops, and Wine 52 were the three (3) business that failed the alcohol compliance test by selling alcoholic beverages to the minor.

On Thursday, November 21, 2024, the Trumbull Police Department, and staff members of the State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection - Liquor Control Division, conducted unannounced compliance inspections of establishments that have alcohol products for sale. The inspections were performed to determine compliance with state laws concerning the prohibition of the sale of alcohol products to youth under the age of twenty-one. Under the direction and supervision of Liquor Control Division investigators, underage youth assisted in these alcohol checks by entering the establishments where they attempted to purchase alcohol products.

A Liquor Control agent then took the enforcement action against each of these establishments for violating the alcohol sales. Each business in violation will also be referred to the legal representative of the State Liquor Commission for potentially further enforcement action.
