A Trumbull Police Officer was injured while making an arrest at a domestic violence incident on Wilson Avenue, late Monday, March 10, 2025, evening. The officer was struck in the face by ISAIAH SABAT, age 19, who resides at the Wilson Avenue home where he was ultimately taken into custody and charged with the assault.
Officers were at the residence after 8:00 PM investigating a domestic disturbance complainant from other family members who were reporting that SABAT had a physical altercation with his girlfriend.
When the arresting officers began to handcuff SABAT he reacted violently striking an officer in the face and knocking down a second officer who was assisting with the investigation.
The officer who was struck in face was transported to Saint Vincent’s Hospital where he was treated for a facial laceration and other minor injuries.
SABAT was transported to the Trumbull Police Department where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Assaulting a Public Safety Officer, and Interfering with an Officer/ Resisting Arrest. He was issued a court date of March 11, 2025, and was held on a $150,000 bond.
