WHEREAS, April is recognized as Donate Life Month, a time to raise awareness about the importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation and the critical need for donors to save and enhance lives; and
WHEREAS, more than 100,000 individuals in the United States are currently waiting for a life-saving organ transplant, and thousands more are in need of tissue and eye donations to improve their quality of life; and
WHEREAS, organ, eye, and tissue donations have the power to transform lives, restore health, and offer hope to individuals and families affected by life-threatening conditions; and
WHEREAS, through the generosity of organ, eye, and tissue donors and their families, millions of lives have been saved and enhanced, making an immeasurable impact on communities across the country; and
WHEREAS, it is essential to honor those who have given the gift of life and to encourage others to consider registering as donors, sharing their wishes with loved ones, and helping to raise awareness about the importance of donation; and
WHEREAS, communities across the nation will join together in celebrating Donate Life Month by participating in events, campaigns, and activities to inspire individuals to take action and register as organ, eye, and tissue donors; and
WHEREAS, it is our shared responsibility to support the mission of donation and transplantation organizations, and to foster a culture of kindness, compassion, and generosity toward those in need.
NOW THEREFORE I, Vicki A. Tesoro, by virtue of the authority vested in me as First Selectman of the Town of Trumbull, Connecticut do hereby proclaim April 1, 2025 as, Donate Life Month
