[ARCHIVED] Proclamation: May 5-9, 2025 is Teacher Appreciation Week

WHEREAS, teachers are the backbone of our educational system, shaping minds, building character, and preparing students for the challenges of the future; and 

WHEREAS, educators dedicate countless hours to fostering a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where students can grow, explore, and achieve their full potential; and 

WHEREAS, teachers serve not only as instructors, but also as mentors, role models, and advocates for every child’s success, often going above and beyond their duties with unwavering dedication and compassion; and 

WHEREAS, the impact of a great teacher extends far beyond the classroom, inspiring lifelong learning and creating a ripple effect across generations and communities; and 

WHEREAS, it is fitting that we recognize and celebrate the contributions of our teachers, express our gratitude, and affirm our commitment to supporting them in every possible way; 

WHEREAS, today and during this week, we celebrate our town’s remarkable teachers and early childhood educators as The Town of Trumbull recognizes and appreciates the pivotal role they play in our children’s lives now and in their future;  

NOW, THEREFORE I, Vicki A. Tesoro, by virtue of the authority vested in me as First Selectman of the Town of Trumbull, Connecticut do hereby proclaim May 5 through May 9, 2025 as Teacher Appreciation Week. 

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Town of Trumbull to be affixed on the 5th day of May in the year 2025.
