12/26/25 8:00 PM: Trumbull Police Officers responded to a dispute at the Trumbull Mall late Friday afternoon and found that a gun had been fired inside the mall. Officers learned that several teenagers, who were all known to each other, got into a heated argument while walking through the shopping center outside the Macy’s store on the upper level. One of the teens displayed a handgun and fired at least one shot, but did not strike anyone.

Numerous 911 calls were received by Trumbull Police at about 5:45 p.m. reporting the disturbance at the mall, which is located at 5065 Main Street in Trumbull. Traffic exiting the mall for the 6:00 p.m. closing time was delayed while officers searched for the suspects who were involved in the incident.

From the preliminary information gathered, officers and detectives believe the suspects were able to quickly escape from the shopping mall but were following several leads.

The investigation was continuing with the help of numerous witnesses and various evidence that was collected from the scene. No one was injured as a result of the gunfire.

Due to the deteriorating weather conditions following this incident, and the large crowds of shoppers and traffic at the mall, Trumbull Police were assisted by mutual aid officers from Bridgeport, Fairfield, and Monroe.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Trumbull Police Department at (203) 261-3665, extension “0.”

12/26/25 6:30 PM: The Trumbull Police Department is presently investigating a discharge of a firearm at the Trumbull Mall, which occurred within the last hour. The mall is presently closed due to the weather, but police are on the scene checking all cars as they leave the mall. According to police the incident began as a fight between two known parties. The investigation is continuing. We will keep you  informed as we learn more.
