Local community leaders celebrate groundbreaking of new all-inclusive resort-style retirement community
September 20, 2019 – Local, state and federal officials joined investment and development partners from Resort Lifestyle Communities (RLC) to celebrate the groundbreaking of River Valley Retirement Community – the newest independent living retirement community in Trumbull, Connecticut. The 130-unit, all-inclusive senior living community is under construction by Cameron General Contractors (CGC) and scheduled to welcome residents in Spring 2021.
Rina Bakalar, Economic and Community Development Director for the Town of Trumbull, kicked off the ceremony by talking about the positive impact this development will have on the community.
Located at 101 Oakview Drive in Trumbull, the $30 million River Valley project will be a RLC portfolio product offering 128 independent living apartments with resort-style service and amenities for adults age 55 and older. The architecture and design will boast a centrally located corridor known as “Main Street” where residents will be greeted by a signature waterfall to which above sits an atrium viewable from three stories. The indoor strip will feature the convenience of an in-house bank, pharmacy, gift shop, salon, and a 150-seat movie theatre – all of which will be open to the public. Residents needing home health care have the freedom to contract with their choice of providers.

With multiple developments across the country, RLC is poised to open more than two dozen senior living communities in the next few years. River Valley is the second senior living development project in the state of Connecticut. Their first project, Evergreen Crossings is currently under construction and projected to welcome residents in South Windsor in the Summer of 2020.
