TDAP SHOTS
Trumbull Health Department Offers Free Tdap Vaccine
The Trumbull Health Department urges anyone 11 years of age or older and are a family member or caregiver of an infant younger than 12 months old, to get the free Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (Tdap) vaccine to protect you against pertussis. Pertussis (also called whooping cough) is a respiratory disease that is very dangerous for infants. Even though pertussis is not as serious for adults, adults can pass it on to infants. In these young children, pertussis can cause severe cough and difficulty breathing, seizures, other serious respiratory infections, and even death. To prevent the spread of pertussis, families and caregivers of infants should get vaccinated with the Tdap vaccine.
For an appointment to get your vaccine, or for more information about pertussis and the Tdap vaccine, call (203) 452-1030. A $21 vaccine administration charge will apply.
