FIRST SELECTMAN HERBST NAMES GENEVIEVE MOLGARD, BARBARA PEZZULLO, NANCY WENTWORTH and NANCY GOTTSCHALK TO THE TRUMBULL NATURE COMMISSION
June 2, 2015 - - First Selectman Timothy M. Herbst announced Tuesday the appointments of Genevieve Molgard, Barbara Pezzullo, Nancy Wentworth and Nancy Gottschalk to the Trumbull Nature Commission. The four nominees replace three commissioners and fill a vacancy. Genevieve Molgard is a life-long Trumbull resident whose children all went through the Trumbull Public School System. Barbara Pezzullo is a retired Trumbull Public educator, serving as a librarian at Jane Ryan Elementary School for many years. Nancy Wentworth is a retired elementary school teacher, having taught for many years at Middlebrook School. Nancy Gottschalk is a retired middle school teacher, having served many years at Madison Middle School. In announcing the appointments, the First Selectman indicated that he is looking for greater collaboration between the Nature Commission and the Parks and Recreation Commission. The First Selectman also indicated that he elected to appoint several retired Trumbull educators to place a renewed focus on expanding educational and learning opportunities for Trumbull youth at the Nature and Arts Center. “In reviewing the operations of the Trumbull Nature Commission, we truly need greater transparency and collaboration,” stated First Selectman Herbst. “With my desire to improve educational opportunities, I am confident that these four outstanding nominees will approach their duties in a collaborative and apolitical manner where they will build bridges with other Town boards and commissions in advancing educational programs that enrich our youth while respecting our natural resources and park system.”
