Low-Cost Cholesterol Screenings and Blood Pressure Screenings Offered at TMHD


Do you know your numbers? Do you want to take charge of your health? The month of February provides many opportunities for you to do just that. The Trumbull Monroe Health District (TMHD) encourages you to take advantage of the many screenings offered at TMHD and throughout the community to get to know your numbers and to make a positive health change in 2015.

The “Know Your Numbers” campaign is used to raise community awareness and detection of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. It encourages adults to know their numbers, and to take the necessary actions to reach and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

“Understanding your blood pressure and cholesterol numbers is the first step to making positive changes in your lifestyle behaviors,” said Patrice Sulik, TMHD Director of Health. “TMHD is happy to be a part of this important campaign and pleased to be able to provide quality screenings to you, your family, and friends.”

The Trumbull Monroe Health District (TMHD) offers low-cost cholesterol screenings and free blood pressure screenings throughout the year. All clinics take place at the TMHD offices, 2 Corporate Drive, Suite 116, Trumbull. Fasting is required for cholesterol screening. The cost is $25.00 (cash and check are accepted). Appointments are required. Schedule your appointment by calling TMHD at 203-452-5195.

Low-cost cholesterol screenings are scheduled for:

• Thursday, February 5, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
• Friday, February 6, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
• Monday, February 9, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
• Wednesday, February 11, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
• Thursday, February 12, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
• Friday, February 13, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
• Tuesday, February 17, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
• Wednesday, February 18, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
• Thursday, February 19, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
• Friday, February 20, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
• Monday, February 23, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
• Tuesday, February 24, from 8:30 -10:30 a.m.
• Wednesday, February 25, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
• Thursday, February 26, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
• Friday, February 27, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.

This simple blood test offered at TMHD will provide you with your cholesterol levels within minutes. TMHD public health nurse will review the results and provide steps that you can take to prevent, or reduce, high cholesterol levels during the same appointment. The lipid profile screening offered includes total, LDL and HDL cholesterol levels, blood sugar and triglyceride levels.

Also, available are blood pressure screenings. Blood pressure screenings are scheduled for:

• Monday, February 9, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
• Wednesday, February 11, from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m.
