September 30, 2019 — I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the Trumbull community who participated in the launch of Trumbull Restaurant Week last week. We have received excellent feedback and by all measures, for its first year, the event was a success. We hope to build on this success and make next year’s Trumbull Restaurant Week even better!
To the 23 participating restaurants and eateries, thank you for your investment in Trumbull and for your involvement. We hope you will join us again next year and encourage other restaurants to join in.
Thank you to our group of community volunteers: Jeanne Gibbs, Kathy Champion, Eve McGrath, Cat Lamy, Coreen Ahmad, Mary Isaac, Julie Heussner, Katherine Bolas, Jeff Bishop and Harriet Polansky. Thank you to our fantastic Trumbull High School interns, Erin Racicot and Gabriela Piekarczyk. All of your tireless efforts to make this new event for our town a success paid off and we are grateful for your talent and involvement.
To our town staff, Rina Bakalar and William Chin, thank you for your work coordinating the planning and execution of all of the details that went into this undertaking. To our sponsors, Westfield Trumbull, Newtown Savings Bank, the Trumbull Chamber of Commerce, and the Trumbull Economic and Community Development Commission, thank you for providing the funding to support our marketing efforts, which included radio, digital and print advertising, social media, videos, signs and flyers.
To all the patrons who dined, took advantage of specials, and helped us spread the word in your own way, we greatly appreciate your interest and excitement. We hope you had as much fun as Jonathan Trumbull did!
Trumbull Restaurant Week is one more way for us to support our local businesses, showcase our wonderful town and bolster community pride. We were pleased to hear about so many positive experiences from local residents, neighboring communities, and visitors from as far away as Hartford.
Thank you all again. By working together, we can make great things happen in Trumbull. We will keep in touch about next year and we hope you will all join in again.
