[ARCHIVED] First Selectman's Super Summer Reading Challenge

June 23, 2014 – First Selectman Herbst and Trumbull Public Schools announce plans for the Third Annual First Selectman’s Super Summer Reading Challenge. The Summer Reading Challenge starts on June 24th and ends on August 26th. Students entering grades 4, 5 and 6 are encouraged to read four books of their choice over the summer. Students will complete a reading log and turn their reading logs into their teachers during the first week of school.

The First Selectman’s Super Summer Reading Challenge is designed to stimulate reading by Trumbull during the summer and also serves as a collaborative method to work with school officials in promoting literacy and expanded learning when school is not in session. Students who participate in the Super Summer Reading Challenge will also be invited to meet with First Selectman Herbst and participate in an awards recognition ceremony event at the Trumbull Town Hall.
