A 22-year-old Bridgeport man was stabbed at the Westfield Trumbull Shopping Mall when he confronted two (2) teenaged females whom he had located in his stolen vehicle on Wednesday afternoon.

Alizen Elliston, age 19, of Bridgeport was arrested and charged with First Degree Assault, but the second female fled the scene and was not immediately located. Police learned that the victim had been alerted that a credit card, which had been left inside his stolen car, was being used at a store in the Trumbull Mall. Shortly after noon, the man went to the mall and located the stolen vehicle in the parking lot with two (2) young females sitting inside.

When the man approached them, a confrontation ensued, when Elliston pulled out a knife and stabbed the man in the left side of his torso. The man was able to restrain Elliston and disarm her until police arrived. The second woman fled the area on foot. Responding officers treated the victim at the scene and recovered the knife nearby in the parking lot. The victim was treated on scene by Trumbull EMS and transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital. The vehicle involved, a 2016 Ford Fusion, was stolen earlier today when it was left parked on the street in Bridgeport, near Manhattan Avenue and Wayne Street.

Elliston was charged with Assault First Degree, Larceny Second Degree, Threatening Second Degree, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, Illegal Possession of a Weapon in a Motor Vehicle, and Breach of Peace Second Degree. She was detained on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on August 30, 2019.

Trumbull Police detectives have identified the second female suspect, a juvenile, and were attempting to locate her in the area. She was determined to be responsible for the sales transaction using the stolen credit card in the mall, and driving the stolen vehicle to the mall.
