[ARCHIVED] 2019-05-03 Two Car Accident Leads to Fatality

A two car motor vehicle accident ended with the death of a Trumbull man. The resident, a fiftyfour year old male victim was a resident of the Daniels Farm Rd. area of Trumbull. 

The Trumbull Police received several 911 calls, on Friday May 3, at approximately 7:00 PM, reporting a two car motor vehicle accident in the area of Daniels Farm Rd. near Strobel Rd. A pick-up truck and a sedan collided, and the pick-up truck eventually came in contact with a nearby residence. The only occupant of the pick-up truck was entrapped inside of the vehicle, and bystanders approached to assist him prior to Trumbull Police arrival. 

Trumbull Police rendered medical aid to the victim, and secured the scene. Trumbull Center and Nichols Fire Departments arrived to extricate the victim from the pick-up truck. Trumbull EMS also arrived on scene to treat and eventually transport the male St. Vincent’s Hospital where he later died. The only occupant of the sedan suffered minor injuries and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for evaluation. 

The Daniels Farm Rd. residence which was struck sustained minor damage, and the residents were not home at the time of the accident. Daniels Farm Rd. was closed between Strobel Rd. and Roosevelt Dr. during this accident investigation. 

The Trumbull and Fairfield Police Department’s Traffic Divisions are currently investigating this incident. The cause of the accident and cause of death have not been determined at this time. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
