Herbst: “This aggressive road paving has been made possible through a comprehensive capital plan that places a core focus on our infrastructure.”
First Selectman Timothy M. Herbst announced on Friday the list of roads to be paved in Trumbull throughout the summer and fall of 2011. The list is part of the Town’s five year capital improvement plan, proposed by the Herbst Administration earlier this year and approved by legislative bodies throughout the Town. “This aggressive road paving has been made possible through a comprehensive capital plan that places a core focus on our infrastructure,” stated the First Selectman. “The Town was without a comprehensive strategy to deal with road paving and as a result, our infrastructure has taken a toll. The capital plan developed under the leadership of Public Works Director John Marsilio addresses years of neglect and ensures that we invest responsibly in our infrastructure.” In all, 16 roads will be repaved this year. Two roads have already been completed and 14 more are on the way.
Perhaps the most needed and significant road to receive repaving this year will be Stonehouse Road in the Tashua section of Town. “Stonehouse Road is in desperate need of repaving and my administration is committed to offering the necessary resources to get this done in the next several months,” stated the First Selectman. “Stonehouse Road not only has Tashua School located on it, but also is a main artery that connects Tashua to the rest of Trumbull and that’s why it’s a top priority.”
Other roads scheduled for road repaving include:
1. Danube Drive
2. Petticoat Lane
3. Iron Gate Road
4. Knecht Farm Road
5. Porters Hill Road
6. Jackson Drive
7. Brookview Drive
8. Farmview Drive
9. Old Fire Lane
10. Topaz Lane
11. Skating Pond Road
12. Wintter Circle
13. Moose Hill Road
Tanglewood Road and Fawn Meadow Drive have already been repaved this year. For additional comment, First Selectman Timothy Herbst may be reached by email at: therbst@trumbull-ct.gov
