Governor Rell Urges Greater Bridgeport Residents to Report
June 24 Tornado, Storm Damages to Local Officials ASAP
Governor M. Jodi Rell today urged residents affected by the June 24 tornado in Bridgeport and severe storms in the surrounding area to report their damages immediately to their local emergency management office.
“We would like everyone to report their damages before this Friday,” Governor Rell said. “Your local officials will take your information. We want everyone to get the help they qualify for from this devastating storm, so please make the call today.”

The day after the June 24 severe weather, that included an EF-1 tornado with 100 mph winds touching down in Bridgeport, the Governor formally requested that the Federal Emergency Management Administration begin the damage assessment process. This is the first step in applying for disaster assistance aid.
