[ARCHIVED] 1/8/2009 - First Selectman Responds to Erroneous Comments Printed in Jan 8th Trumbull Times Article

Folks, The Trumbull Times, in today’s edition, erroneously quoted me as saying that the ownership of Trumbull Center, “…looks to have everything sorted out, and we can finally start to get things done”, suggesting that the parties had, or were about to settle all their legal differences in the near future. That statement is UNTRUE and I have no idea where Mr. Eng got it from. Though there have been some discussions between the principals regarding the possibility of a new restaurant locating in the Center, they are no where near a resolution of the major issues regarding management and control. In fact, the Trumbull Times was specifically told that the Ct. Supreme Court would be hearing their case in the first week of February which clearly belays such a statement. I’m afraid this situation will not be resolved in the near future but a number of us are still trying. BTW I am meeting with the Trumbull Times management to discuss, among other things, this article and other reporting issues.
