First Selectman Raymond G. Baldwin, Jr. announced Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. as Trumbull’s Town Hall Green Lighting and Santa’s Welcome.
The Trumbull Center Lions Club will once again host this family evening welcoming the holiday season to Trumbull.
Mr. Baldwin will be joined by U.S. Army Sergeants Brad Anderson and Joshua Seymour recently returned from Iraq.
This year’s celebration will include music provided by the Long Hill Baptist Church “Voice of Truth” singers and the Bridgeport PAL Buccaneers Trumpeters.
Santa will arrive for this occasion on the Long Hill Fire Company holiday decorated fire truck escorted by Police Department and EMS vehicles.
The Town of Trumbull is sponsoring a Holiday Food Drive to benefit Trumbull Social Services. Please assist us in filling our holiday baskets by bringing non-perishable items to Santa’s Welcome. Thank you.
Join us for holiday songs and Santa’s welcome…and children visits with Santa on the Town Hall Green Gazebo followed by cider and donuts.

To explain why we are doing things a bit differently this year:
The tree that we have lit, every year, no longer seems viable as the top is beginning to lean. In addition, due to the size of the tree, keeping the lights lit, during the holiday season, has frequently posed a problem. Finally, the lights themselves are in need of repair.
Due to these factors, we made a decision to light the Town Hall building and to concentrate our Christmas decorations at the gazebo. For safety reasons, Santa will be arriving at the Town Hall parking lot, rather than stopping on Main Street at Route 111.
