35th ANNIVERSARY OF WITHDRAWAL OF U.S.
FORCES FROM VIETNAM – MARCH 29, 2008
ESSAY CONTEST



SUBJECT: 35 years later, how should the Vietnam War be remembered?


LENGTH: No more than 500 words.


FORMAT: 8 ½” x 11” typed pages. (Times New Roman or Ariel 12 font), double spaced with 1” margins, right and left, top and bottom. 


ELIGIBILITY: Any current student in grades 9-12 at Trumbull High School, St. Joseph’s High School or Christian Heritage High School.


PRIZE: $500, to be administered by American Legion Post 141 and 

VFW Post 10059.


TIMING: The deadline for entries will be no later than May 1, 2008.


SUBMISSION: All entries shall be submitted, postmarked no later than May 1, 2008 and addressed to:


        Office of the First Selectman
        Trumbull Town Hall
        5866 Main Street
        Trumbull, CT 06611


MISCELLANEOUS: The winner of the contest will be chosen prior to Memorial Day celebrations, and the winner will be announced at the Memorial Day ceremonies and shall have the opportunity to read the winning submission.
