Drop-In Tech Help – Thursday, November 7th from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Need help downloading books to your mobile device? Would you like help using the Library’s electronic resources? Meet with a Reference Librarian for a free one-on-one help. Bring your device and your questions! 

Movie Screening: Social Media 1957 Style – Thursday, November 7th from 6:30 to 8:45pm. Andy Griffith rises to the heights of television stardom, but then ... This movie also stars Patricia Neal and Walter Matthau. Because of licensing and copyright agreements, the Library cannot list the title of the film. Registration is not required, but suggested.

Yale Whiffenpoofs – Sunday, November 10th from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Every year, the most talented senior Yale students are selected to be in the Whiffenpoofs, the world's oldest and best known collegiate a cappella group. Founded in 1909, the 'Whiffs” began as a senior quartet that met for weekly concerts at Mory’s Temple Bar, the famous Yale tavern. Today, the group has become one of Yale’s most celebrated traditions with over a century of musical excellence

Retirement Planning Workshop – Tuesday, November 12th from 6:30 to 7:45 If you are thinking about retirement, this is the workshop for you! Issues facing the average retiree include: Risk analysis, Strategies to maximize pensions & social security, tax planning, and health care costs planning

Trumbull Chess Club – Tuesday, November 12th from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Interested in chess? Young players of all skill levels are invited to attend! Learn the basics, learn strategies, and play against others! Visit the club's Facebook page for more information. Meetings are every Tuesday, 6:45-7:45 PM in the Merwin Room. If you have your own chess set, please bring it to the meeting! Thank you.

Storytime continues through the month of November

Orchestra 101: Peter and the Wolf – Saturday, November 9th from 11 a.m. to noon. Lori Vellardito returns to present her Orchestra 101 program again. She will use Peter and the Wolf to teach students about the different instruments that make up an orchestra. Grades 2-5. Registration is required.

Homework Help – Wednesday, November 13th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Kids in grades K-8 can drop in between 5:30 and 6:30 for homework help offered by high school student volunteers. No appointment is required.

Children’s

Fairchild: Toddler Yoga – Thursday, November 7th from 11:30 a.m. – Noon. Join Jyothi for Yoga! Parents are welcome to join their children. The class is for ages 1-4. Children will learn postures, breathing techniques, meditation, and relaxation in a fun, age-appropriate setting with a supportive musical playlist. Mats are not required. Registration is required, once you are registered you are signed up for 4 sessions. Registration starts October 3rd. 

Fairchild: Turn It UP – Tuesday, November 12th from 10:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. Turn It UP is a fun and entirely interactive music program that gets kids up and moving!! Registration is required, all ages. Once registered you are signed up for a month. Registration for session begins October 15th 

Fairchild: Storytime for 2s & 3s – Wednesday, November 13th, from 11 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Come join us for story time! We will have a little bit of stories and a show stopping craft. Drop in, no registration required. Ages 2-3.

Fairchild: Creators’ Corner Exploration – Saturday, November 9th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Discover 3D Printing, Ozobot robots or building with our construction kits (LEGO, K'nex, Roominate, Keva Planks) plus electronic kits (Snap Circuits, LittleBits, Squishy Circuits, Makey Makey). Ages 8 and up. Drop in.

Fairchild: Fairchild Family Game Night – Wednesday, November 13th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Come and join us for a family game night with fun family board games. Try fun family games and make family game night exciting. We will have pizza at the end of the event. No registration required.
