Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response

Public health emergencies can happen at any time and may include disease outbreaks, severe weather, hazardous material incidents, or other natural and man-made disasters. The Trumbull Health Department works year-round with local, state, and federal partners to prepare for, respond to, and recover from public health emergencies while protecting the health and safety of our community.

Preparedness efforts include emergency planning, disease surveillance, public education, vaccination and medication dispensing operations, coordination with healthcare and emergency response partners, and support for vulnerable populations during emergencies.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed, make family emergency plans, maintain emergency supply kits, and sign up for local emergency alerts.
