K-9 Unit

The Trumbull Police Department K-9 unit currently consists of two officers who are trained dog handlers and two certified police dogs.

The K-9 unit went into service in 2010. The two officers currently assigned to this unit are K-9 officer Carlson and his partner Rico and K-9 officer Greg Lee and his partner Storm.

Services

Our Canines assist patrol officers with the apprehension of suspects, search and rescue of missing or lost persons, locating articles, and provide officer protection. The K-9 unit also assists other area police departments with these tasks.

Our police service work dogs have proven themselves invaluable to the mission of crime-fighting and community safety.
