Public Fingerprinting Notice

Fingerprinting is conducted by Detective Bureau personnel, and is only available on Wednesdays between 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Police Headquarters. You must be a Trumbull resident or be seeking childcare or Board of Education employment in town. It is recommended that you adhere to the following procedure to speed the processing and make your experience more pleasurable.

Fingerprinting Instructions for Employment

  1. Walk-ins will not be processed.
  2. Schedule an appointment by calling 203-261-3665, press 2. Give your name and reason being fingerprinted.
  3. There is a $10 fee; please bring the exact amount in cash.
  4. Be sure to have proper identification (Ex. driver's license or official identification with your photo).
  5. If required by your employer; complete the CCHRS pre-enrollment process and bring the tracking documents to your appointment.
  6. Questions can be submitted to fingerprinting@trumbull-ct.gov

Fingerprinting Instructions for Permits and Licenses 

Applications are on file in the lobby of the Police Department. Before fingerprinting you must pre-enroll in CCHRS, this link information is on the application.

Fees are not refunded if incorrect service account is entered by the applicant.

Fingerprinting Instructions for Pistol Permit Applications

Fees are not refunded if incorrect service account is entered by the applicant.  Only Trumbull residents can apply for a Pistol Permit through the Trumbull Police Department. IDEMIA fees cannot be refunded.

Please use the Pistol Permit code on your application.

  1. Pick up an application from the Police Department lobby at 158 Edison Road.
  2. Check the cover letter attached to the application to be sure you have all the required documents and fee.
