Civilian Complaints

The goal of Professional Standards is to ensure that all complaints or allegations against the Trumbull Police Department or any of its employees are investigated in a thorough, fair, and impartial manner. The rights of all citizens and employees of the Trumbull Police Department shall be protected and confidentiality shall be maintained to the highest standard. We strive to earn the trust and confidence of the citizens we proudly serve while maintaining the highest level of ethical behavior and integrity for the Trumbull Police Department by identifying, recognizing, and resolving public safety concerns.

Submitting a Complaint

Complaint forms can be submitted in any of the following ways:

  1. Via email to police@trumbull-ct.gov. Please note that this Police Department email is only monitored during regular business hours.  
  2. Via fax to (203) 452-5162.
  3. In person or U.S. mail at the following address:

In addition, a police supervisor is available 24 hours every day, in person or by telephone, to discuss the matter or receive a complaint by calling (203) 261-3665, menu option "0."
